A driver of an SUV is dead after a tractor-trailer heading west on Route 422 crashed through the median and struck it at the St. Gabe’s curve in Lower Providence Township.

The deceased was eastbound on 422, also known as Benjamin Franklin Highway, according to 6abc. After collision, the SUV skidded on its driver’s side down an embankment, over a walking trail, and stopping at the wood’s edge.

Both eastbound and westbound directions were closed for six hours for the investigation.
