Pennypacker Mills will host a Victorian-era game day for residents of all ages from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 27. The event will feature fun pastimes from the mid-late 19th Century, including an era-authentic baseball game.
All are welcome to visit the historic Pennypacker Mills property to enjoy toys and games that were popular in the Victorian Era. Guests are invited to try their hand at croquet, graces, ring toss, cup and ball, Jacob’s Ladder, and much more! Optical illusion toys like flip books and stereoscopes will also offer timeless fun.
Taking the field at Pennypacker Mills’ game day will be the Athletic Base Ball Club of Philadelphia. Join the team for an interactive game of “town ball,” before watching a full game of baseball using 1860s rules, uniforms, and equipment. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on to enjoy the game.
This event is free with a suggested donation of $2 per person.
