Unidentified burglar attempted to access secure high voltage area at Worcester PECO substation

 An unknown individual trespassed and attempted to gain access into an enclosed area containing high voltage electrical components at a PECO substation in Worcester Township this week.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on Monday at 7:55 a.m., PECO security division notified the Skippack barracks of an attempted burglary and criminal trespass at the Center Point transmission substation at 3200 Fisher Road.

Security cameras captured the burglar with breaching equipment who was attempting to gain access into an area with 500kW transmission lines and associated equipment, police said.

The burglar failed to gain entry to the area and fled on foot through a wooded area, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.
