At least one person was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in a multi-vehicle accident on Route 422 eastbound Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports from the scene, a gray Ford Escape flipped onto its roof in the median of Route 422, after being involved in a collision with a white Hyundai sedan and a dark-colored Buick at 1:21 p.m.
Traffic on Route 422 was reduced to one lane in the westbound and eastbound directions, and reopened as of 2 p.m.
The accident occurred about a half-mile north of the Audubon exit. Three people were assessed at the scene by EMS. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
The accident remains under investigation.
Lower Providence Community Center Ambulance, Upper Merion Fire & Rescue Services Ambulance, and Lower Providence Township Fire Co. responded to the scene.
