The 12th annual Make Music Upper Perk will feature 90 musical acts at 21 venues throughout the Upper Perkiomen Valley, rain or shine, on Friday, June 21.
Always held on the same day every year around the world, folks from the community and beyond will be coming together to celebrate the first full day of summer with song.
Musicians will range in age from single digits to nonagenarians. They hail from the immediate area and beyond, including the Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia and central Pennsylvania. Some are novices, some are seasoned, but all are enthusiastic. Often there are even some musicians from out of state participating, and this year is no exception.
As part of the international movement Fete de la Musique, Make Music Upper Perk meets the people where they are. More than 20 venues in five towns will be hosting musicians including shops, libraries, museums, eateries, and community organizations. The first notes drop at 9 a.m., and the final ones fade away around 10 p.m.
All events throughout the day are free and open to the public. Feel free to bring chairs and blankets for outdoor venues.
