The United States Auto Club Eastern Storm Sprint Car National Championship series kicks off Tuesday at Grandview Speedway.
A six-night Eastern Storm Sprint Car National Championship event series in Pennsylvania and New Jersey will see one former champion from Collegeville get behind the wheel full-time this week and attempt to beat 22 other sprinters.
According to Speedway Digest, United States Auto Club East Coast Sprint Car champion Alex Bright has returned to the series and is eyeing a first career USAC National Sprint Car victory.
During the series, 23 drivers will take part in six events over six nights at various racetracks, including Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Berks County, on Tuesday, which will host the 40-lap Eastern Storm/Jesse Hockett Classic, per the report. Pits open at 2:30 p.m., gates at 5 p.m. and first heat at 6:10 p.m.
First place purse is $6,000, according to the race website.
A sprint car is a fast, open-wheeled race car designed to run on short oval or circular dirt tracks.
Tickets are $35, $10 for children six to 11, and children five an under are free.
