The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Thursday that construction will occur next week on U.S. 422 under two improvement projects in Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The concrete patching is part of a $6.9 million project to rehabilitate pavement on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Route 29/Phoenixville and Route 363/Trooper Road interchanges.

The shoulder and roadway reconstruction are part of an $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve U.S. 422 and replace two bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.

For more information on PennDOT's U.S. 422 reconstruction program, visit the U.S. 422 projects page.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
