A deer was killed and the striking vehicle was towed from the scene after a one-vehicle incident on Big Road the evening of May 31, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Police said Gerald C. Boorse, 82, of Telford, was driving a 2019 Toyota RAV4 east in the eastbound lane of 50 mph-posted Big Road/Route 73 around 8:30 p.m., when a deer entered the lane from the eastbound side of the road. The deer ran directly in front of Boorse’s car, who did not have time to react and hit the deer, police said.
