An 18-year-old woman avoided a potentially deadly situation while allegedly texting while driving, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Destiny R. Keyser, of Schwenksville, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash on the grounds of Perkiomen Valley Middle School West, 220 Big Road, Lower Frederick Township, on the evening of May 31, according to police.

Police said OnStar notified 911 of a crash of a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse into a light pole along the middle school driveway.

The crash occurred, police allege, as Keyser was driving west on the school entrance driveway and texting at the same time, which caused her to go off the roadway and collide head-on with a light post.

The post became detached and fell to the ground, police said. The Traverse sustained damage to its front end and was towed from the scene, police said.

Keyser was issued a summons Monday by Pennsylvania State Police at Skippack through Magisterial District Judge Maurice H. Saylor, per court records.
