English indie pop group IONA SKY debut short U.S. East Coast stint at Skippack tavern

English pop rockers IONA SKY – whose name is strikingly similar to 1980s “Say Anything” actress and ex-Mrs. Ad-Rock Ione Skye – are embarking on a U.S. tour on the East Coast in August to support their new EP Homeschooled, and chose Skippack as their first stop.

The group hails from Cambridgeshire in the United Kingdom and will play The Stray Dog Tavern on Friday night at 10.

After Skippack, the Brits head to NYC, then Seaport Pier in Wildwood, NJ on Sunday. The play their last show at the Bridgeport Ribhouse in Bridgeport on Monday.

The band's new EP is described as "crafted with heartfelt lyricism and irresistible beats" and its singles "Locked the Door," "Shiver," and "Never Be the Same Again," which was featured on international radio, can be watched on YouTube or found on Spotify.

Stray Dog Tavern is located at 3911 Skippack Pike, near Collegeville Road. It is open noon to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday,  and noon to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Lunch IPA, Russian River Brewing Pliny the Elder Imperial IPA, Lawson’s Sip of Sunshine Imperial IPA, Saison Dupont Farmhouse ale, Delirium Tremens Belgian strong golden ale, Guinness stout, Young’s Double Chocolate milk stout, Founders Canadian Breakfast stout, Goose Island Bourbon County Imperial stout, Consecration wild ale, and Downeast cider.
