Any news that people got the morbs at Pennypacker Mills’s Victorian Games event is downright balderdash. On the contrary, those in attendance and those providing a tickety-boo event were gigglemugging and lollygagging and nanty narking all afternoon in Schwenksville.

Victoria-era game day had fun pastimes from the mid- to late-19th Century, including  an era-authentic baseball game by the Athletic Base Ball Club of Philadelphia, croquet, ring toss, cup and ball, Jacob’s Ladder and more.

Flip books and stereoscopes showed off the Victorian era’s equivalent of a VR system.

Located at 5 Haldeman Road in Schwenksville, Pennypacker Mills is an immersive colonial revival mansion that offers visitors a unique glimpse into the past. Pennypacker Mills is operated by Montgomery County’s Division of Parks, Trails & Historic Sites. The site is open year-round for free guided tours, seasonal events, craft workshops, special presentations, education programs, the StoryWalk® and changing exhibits.
