A resident in Worcester Township was the victim of unknown thieves who stole packages containing phones and an iPad from her front porch last month.
Pennsylvania State Police said a 49-year-old woman from the 1300 block of Quarry Hall Road reported on the afternoon of June 20 that an Apple iPhone 15 Pro Titanium, valued at $999, an Apple iPhone 14 256GB, valued at $755, an Apple iPhone 14 128GB, valued at $755, and an Apple iPad 9th Generation 64GB, valued at $250, were stolen from her porch.
Police said the resident witnessed a dark-colored sedan backing out of her driveway and then discovered her items that were delivered were stolen.
Police are investigating.
Back in May, Collegeville Police warned of the new scam.
A common thread in the thefts, according to authorities, is the use of FedEx packages and AT&T phones.
Scammers have also been known to steal FedEx shipping numbers to track deliveries.
Residents are encouraged and recommended to buy cell phones at a physical store, or, if phones are delivered to the home, to request the package be signed for at time of delivery, police said.
