A North Wales woman whose front bumper was damaged by a tow hitch when a vehicle in front of her rolled down a sloped road in Schwenksville Borough was eventually cited by Pennsylvania State Police for following too closely in traffic.

Police said on June 21 at 4:26 p.m., Emily R. Kelly, 21, was in a queue of traffic on Main Street at the Game Farm Road intersection in a 2021 Honda Civic Del Sol behind a vehicle whose make and model is unknown. At the green light, the vehicle rolled back slightly due to an upward grade of the road, police said.

Kelly’s Honda was stopped so close to the truck, police said, that the vehicle’s tow hitch struck the front bumper of the Honda, causing minor damage.

The driver of the striking vehicle, police said, was unaware, and proceeded through the signal. Kelly pulled her car over to report the incident, and was uninjured, police said.
