A Yardley man and a 10-year-old passenger from New Mexico suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash in Salford Township earlier this month and were transported to Grand View Hospital for treatment.

Pennsylvania State Police said Mark S. Stern, 45, was driving a 2024 VW Jetta east on Ridge Road on July 1 at 9:05 a.m., then exited the travel lanes onto the shoulder and crashed into a utility pole about 200 feet west of Harder Road.

The Jetta came to rest partially blocking the eastbound lane of Ridge Road, police said.

VMSC Emergency Medical Services transported both patients to Grand View. Stern was wearing a seatbelt and the child was in a front-facing safety seat, per the report.

Stern was charged by police with failure to drive in roadways laned for traffic, according to the affidavit.
