A Hatfield woman has been charged with failure to yield right-of-way to another vehicle while intending to turn left, as a result of an accident involving a bicycle in Worcester Township.
Denise M. Marnien, 46, of Hatfield, was not injured in the crash on Woodlyn Avenue at North Trooper Road on June 11 at 12:41 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police, who released information on July 8.
Police said Marnien was driving a 2022 Ford Mustang on North Trooper Road and began turning left onto Woodlyn Road after stopping at a stop sign. A bicyclist, identified as a 63-year-old man from Norristown, was riding east on Woodlyn Road and had the right of way, police said.
Marnien started to turn and had no time to avoid a collision, police said, hitting the bicycle and then coming to a rest on the right shoulder of Woodlyn Avenue, according to the report.
Prior to police arrival, East Norriton Police arrived on scene and moved the bicycle and vehicle from the roadway, police said.
Plymouth Ambulance personnel treated the injured bicyclist and took him for treatment of injuries to Paoli Hospital, according to the criminal complaint.
The injured man’s condition is unknown.
