Emergency responders were called out to the 300 block of Maple Avenue in Lower Salford Township Friday morning for reports of a building fire.
Upon arrival, crews encountered a two-story garage-style apartment building, with fire and smoke showing from the side of the building. The occupants of the building were evacuated as firefighters worked to gain control of the fire.
The scene was brought under control about 30 minutes later. No injuries have been reported at this time, and it is unknown what caused the fire to ignite. Maple Avenue was closed at Main Street while crews processed the scene.
