Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. Harleysville Taproom opens for business Friday

Beer is open for business in downtown Harleysville.

Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co.’s Harleysville Taproom, its third one, is officially open as of noon Friday inside the old Harleysville Bank at 483 Main St., now an indoor retail space called The Vault Town Center.

“Be among the first to check out the space and pop in for a pint when we open. We’ve put a lot of hard work into this new location and are so excited to finally open the doors to the community that has supported us since we first announced we would be moving into the old Harleysville National Bank,” wrote the business on Facebook Thursday. “Thanks to everyone who has been patiently waiting for us to make this announcement and our killer staff that’s been working hard behind the scenes on this project.”

"While the project took longer than expected, Neshaminy Creek used that time to transform the dusty old bank into a warm and welcoming watering hole with hopes of becoming a staple for locals that have been supportive of the brewery since the new location was first announced," said Kyle Park, Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company’s director of sales and marketing.

Opening Day features 16 Neshaminy Creek brews on tap, as well as local Pennsylvania wine and canned cocktails. Takeout beer is also available and there is Harleysville swag for sale.

Today's opening will feature a new release: Yuzu's Petals, a Holiday Ale brewed with candied Yuzu peel.

Neshaminy Creek will take up about 3,100 square feet inside the 82,000-square-foot bank, built in 1929.

Food is Bring-Your-Own or delivery.

The Taproom will close at 11 p.m., but reopens Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 7 p.m.

Its hours of operation will be 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. Closed Monday.

The brewery, named after the nearby creek, was founded in 2010 in Croydon, Bucks County, by Rob Jahn, Steve Capelli and Jenna Ball. Its first retail location opened in June 2012.

To date, the company produces about 12,000 beer barrels in the U.S. annually. Its Churchville Lager won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival in 2013, and a bronze in 2016. Its Croydon is Burning smoked beer won the gold at the festival in 2021.

In May 2022, its Warehouse Lager won first place at the World Beer Cup in the international lager category.

Back in January, Park said the business had been looking for another space to open a third taproom as way to make direct connections with customers and continue to build the Neshaminy Creek community right in their backyard.

"This Harleysville project caught our eye because we love being part of the resurgence of town centers and providing a place for people to come together. Jenna Ball, one of co-owners and CEO, grew up not far from Harleysville and still has a lot of family in the area so it was especially appealing to her,” Park said.

Redevelopment of the bank property, which was bought by 480 Park Inv LLC for $5.7 million from VV483 LLC (Velocity Venture Partners) in February 2023, will comprise two detached buildings across a seven-acre campus.

"We’ll be bringing a little of our personality and plenty of fresh beer to this vibrant new community center in the heart of the family oriented, historic area of Montgomery County and can’t wait to share a few pints with you later this year,” said the brewery in January.

Park said the new Harleysville location should have a similar atmosphere to its taproom in Dublin, which opened in 2021.

"(We) have enjoyed seeing a community grow around since then as that area has gone through a bit of its own resurgence. This is part of a larger project and we're excited to see what other local businesses join us throughout the campus,” he said in January.
