A 42-year-old Royersford man suffered injures of unknown severity Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash after he allegedly ran a red light at an intersection in Perkiomen Township.
Pennsylvania State Police said Monday the driver was taken by Plymouth Ambulance to Einstein Hospital following a 10 a.m. accident on the 800 block of Gravel Pike at the Plank Road intersection.
The driver was also cited for running the red light, police said.
According to police, the injured driver was in a 2022 Honda Civic, west on Plank Road approaching Gravel Pike, and a 28-year-old man from Schwenksville was driving a 2018 Mazda CX-5 south on Gravel Pike.
The crash occurred as the injured driver ran the red light and hit the driver side of the Mazda with its front bumper and hood, police said.
Both cars sustained disabling damage, police said. The driver of the Mazda was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, police said.
