Trappe Borough is proposing a $8.109 million expense budget for 2025 with a surplus and no real estate tax increase.

According to Borough Manager Marcus Dolny, the council is proposing a 0.5 mill increase to the fire and EMS tax.

Revenues are proposed at $8.12 million, leaving a $10,572 surplus.

The current real estate tax rate is 0.47 mills, with the fire and EMS at 1.5 mills, totaling 1.97 mills for Trappe taxpayers in 2025.

“It’s a beautiful thing for us to keep our property taxes low,” Dolny said. “We benefit off of our earned income tax. We have a very affluent neighborhood.”

Last year, the fire tax was raised to 1.0 mills and Trappe went into 2024 with a $36,742 surplus.
