A Worcester Township man has been charged with 18 felonies related to the sharing of child pornography online over a four-month period.

Jadon Nihal Madavaram, 24, of the 1300 block of Dell Road, was charged Nov. 22 by Pennsylvania State Police’s Computers Crime Unit with 11 counts of child pornography, six counts of disseminating photos or films of child sex acts, and a count of criminal use of a computer, according to court records.

On March 26, 2024, investigators were conducting undercover operations into internet sharing of child pornography, and located a computer on the BitTorrent peer-to-peer file sharing network that was sharing a torrent file containing at least one file identified as being “of investigative interest to child pornography investigations,” according to the affidavit.

Investigators found the IP address using the software and downloaded multiple video and image files from the user between March 26 and July 30 that showed young girls between the ages of two and 11 years of age, according to the affidavit.

Authorities served Comcast with a subpoena for subscriber information, and the company responded with subscriber information connected to Madavaram, police said.

A search warrant was requested July 29 and served at Madavaram’s home the next day, according to the affidavit. At 6:50 a.m., investigators interviewed Madavaram, telling him he was not under arrest, and free to leave at any time and did not have to answer questions, per the complaint.

Madavaram told police he wanted to know more about what brought police to his home, and authorities told him an iPhone was located on him and two laptops in his bedroom, per the complaint. He allegedly told authorities he was the primary user of the devices and that he was familiar with BitTorrent.

Madavaram’s phone and laptops were examined at the State Police Computer Crime Lab, and police said the iPhone was connected to the vicinity and timeframe of a download of a pornographic file via BitTorrent. One of the defendant’s laptops had six video files of child pornography, authorities said, and they found more than 14 video files recently played on a VLC media player.

The second laptop had 18 image files and 10 video files related to child pornography, police said.

Madavaram is at Montgomery County jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail, according to court documents. A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 11 at 11:45 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Adam T. Katzman.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
