Joshua Lawrence Beauseigneur, 32, of the 1400 block of Route 663, Upper Hanover Township, is free on bail.
Felony criminal trespassing and misdemeanor theft charges were held over for Montgomery County court last month against an Upper Hanover Township man who allegedly fled the hospital into the woods and later broke into a residential garage earlier this month, cutting its power.
Joshua Lawrence Beauseigneur, 32, of the 1400 block of Route 663, who is free on $5,000 unsecured bail, is accused of running away from Jefferson Lansdale Hospital, where he was admitted as a patient, at 8:36 a.m. Oct. 15. He was seen heading into the woods near North Line Street. While en route to check the area for Beauseigneur, a homeowner on the 1100 block of N. Line Street called police to report a man was walking around her property, police said.
Upon arrival at the house, police found a garage door closed and police from another department confirmed Beauseigneur was locked inside, police said. Once more officers arrived on scene, the garage was opened and Beauseigneur was allegedly found hiding under a wooden table, per the affidavit. Beauseigneur was ordered to come out and he complied, and he was taken into custody to be transported back to the hospital, police said.
The homeowner told police she was in a second-floor kitchen, when she saw Beauseigneur on her property in between a pickup truck and a trailer, per the affidavit. The woman’s husband went outside to speak to the defendant, who was allegedly trying to open the locked trailer door.
Beauseigneur, police allege, then walked into the backyard, picked up a Roadmaster bicycle, got onto it, and started riding away toward the front of the home. When the homeowner asked Beauseigneur what he was doing, he dropped the bicycle, police said, to which the homeowner told him, “You are not allowed to be on my property, get out.”
Instead, police said Beauseigneur walked into the open, attached garage, disconnected the power to the building at the circuit breaker box, and then rummaged through various drawers.
Police said they were familiar with Beauseigneur from an incident the day prior in another jurisdiction.
