An East Norriton man with four prior DUI convictions faces felony charges of DUI and DUI while driving at an unsafe speed stemming from a June crash of his 2023 Buick Enclave SUV in Worcester Township.
Jason M. Feldman, 42, of the 200 block of Stony Way, also faces charges filed July 31 by Pennsylvania State Police at Skippack of driving on a suspended license, speeding, failure to wear a seatbelt, and failure to drive in a single lane, per court documents.
On June 20, 2024, at 8:35 a.m., police arrived on scene of a reported one-vehicle crash at 2015 Potshop Road, per an affidavit, in which they allege Feldman was driving south on Potshop Road while intoxicated, left his lane, and hit a utility pole.
Police said the Buick SUV had severe damage to its front bumper and hood, but no airbag was deployed.
Looking inside the car, police found drug paraphernalia in plain view, specifically a plastic baggie and a folded wax paper consistent with heroin and fentanyl use, police said in the complaint.
Feldman had a passenger in the SUV, police said.
As Feldman was receiving EMS treatment for an injured arm, police spoke to him, and told them he was driving, police said. Feldman, they allege, was confused, had constricted pupils, and had thick, slurred speech.
The SUV, he said, was rented via Enterprise in his girlfriend’s name, per the affidavit. Police then discovered Feldman’s license was suspended for DUI, police said.
The passenger told police she knew Feldman was high and upset over his drug addiction, per the affidavit. Police said the passenger suffered injuries to her left knee and head.
After conducting a search of the vehicle, police found an orange plastic bag with an unknown substance, a clear bag with an empty blue wax paper stamped “Ocho Blanco,” and an orange bag with white residue, police said.
Feldman, authorities said, refused a blood draw test and was taken to an area hospital.
According to court documents, Feldman is free on $25,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 9 at 11:30 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Adam T. Katzman.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
