The Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce will host a New Membership Orientation on Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. There is no cost to the event, which will be held at 521 W. Main St., Suite 103, Trappe. Guests are welcome to learn about the opportunities the chamber offers, hear about committees and events, and meet new and existing chamber members. On Friday, Aug. 23, adults will be taking over the Skippack Recreation Association Pool, located at 1224 Cressman Road, Schwenksville, with Adult Night at the Pool! All age 21 and over are welcome to attend. A food truck will be available, and the evening is BYOB. For those that feel like “adult swim” just never lasts long enough, this evening’s activities are geared just for the adults from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. For more information, email info@skippackpool.com.
Rock In the Perky will hold its fifth annual fundraiser from Aug. 23 to 25, with various live musical performances, camping, and children’s events. The Cabin Craft Ski Shop and Outdoor Adventures, located at 2 Main St. in Spring Mount, will play host to the events, which benefit both Shatterproof, stronger than addiction and Song for Charlie, real talk about fake pills. On Saturday, Aug. 24 from 7 to 10 p.m., the Eagleville Taphouse will host Little Sister, a rock/pop/dance band. The Eagleville Taphouse, which offers 27 unique draft beers, is located at 3300 Ridge Pike, Eagleville. The restaurant offers small plates and starters, as well as salads, handheld sandwiches, entrees, mussels, and delicious sides. The Al Laskey Memorial’s 32nd annual Auto Show is slated for Sunday, Aug. 25 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Perkiomen Valley High School, Route 29 and Trappe Road, in Collegeville. Hosted by the Perkiomen Township Fire Company, the event offers free admission for all ages of the public to view cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more that will be on display in the high school’s parking lots. Independent judging will award trophies for the Top 75 and Specials, in addition to a Chief’s Award and Chairman’s Choice, too. Winners will be announced at the end of the day’s show. Registration for those wishing to participate is from 8 to 11 a.m., with a fee of $20 the day of, at the show.
