There was no crying over this spilt milk.
A truck owned by Populardrive Farms LLC transporting millions of gallons of milk overturned on Gravel Pike/Route 29 in Marlborough Township Tuesday afternoon, blocking the northbound lane of the road for several hours and sending the driver to Grand View Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Upon arrival, a tanker-style truck was flipped on its side and deep tire marks along the grass on the side of the road were visible. Witnesses reported the driver tried to over-correct the truck, but it flipped around 2 p.m.
Reports from the scene said the truck was going to be drained to another truck before attempting to roll it back over.
Gravel Pike was closed between McLeans Station Road and Lumber Street for several hours Tuesday night.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Marlborough Township Police were assisted at the scene by Montgomery County HAZMAT, Stowe Fire Co., Tylersport Fire Co., East Greenville Fire Co., New Hanover Township Fire Co. No. 1, North Penn Goodwill Service, Pennsburg Fire Co., Red Hill Fire Co., Green Lane Fire Co.,Upper Frederick Fire Co. No. 1, and Upper Perkiomen Valley Ambulance Association.
