Thursday, Aug. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. will feature the live music of Kristen Morgenstern at the Evansburg Vineyards, 3857 Germantown Pike, Collegeville. Morgenstern has been singing for over a decade, and has been nominated for the Lehigh Valley Music Awards “Best Female Artist.” Vineyard owners Yuval and Leli Sarov-Blat create 15 different wine blends available for purchase for guests 21 and over.
The 61st annual Philadelphia Folk Festival is set to be held from Friday, Aug. 16 through Sunday, Aug. 18 at the Old Pool Farm, in Upper Salford Township. Seven different stages will rotate a wide variety of musical acts throughout the weekend. The event is for all ages, with those 4 and under entering for free. On Saturday Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, Aug. 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Bedminster Traditional Artisan Show, in partnership with Historic Trappe, will be held at the Perkiomen Valley Middle School East, 5 Tammanund Circle, Collegeville. The event will feature 40 of the country’s finest artisans working in traditional Americana and folk art. You can meet the artists, shop for treasures, and enjoy the detailed works of talented skill tradesmen and -women.
The Sounds of Phoenix will play at Country Sunday at the Stray Dog Tavern in Skippack on Sunday, Aug. 18 from 3 to 6 p.m. Line Dancing will follow the musical talents, at the restaurant located at 3911 W. Skippack Pike, in Skippack. With a 22-beer tap system and a “From-Scratch” kitchen, there are plenty of options for all tastes. Skippack Village will feature its very first “India Day,” with the clothes, accessories, food, tribal arts, and décor of the country that has such a deep history. Henna will be available, as well as a saree draping workshop and photo opportunities on Sunday, Aug. 18. A live dosa and chaat station will be open throughout the day. Vendors may register at the site here. The festivities will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hastakala by Herbiznet, 4034 W. Skippack Pike, in Skippack.
