The 40-plus-strong community symphony rehearses every Wednesday and any orchestral instrumentalist is invited.
Audubon Symphony is asking the public to get low and join in the fun, starting Sept. 11.
The amateur community orchestra, which has more than 40 active members playing a variety of orchestral instruments, is seeking bassoonists, violists, tuba players, and tympanists to join the Symphony on Wednesday evenings in Trappe for its fall season.
Other musicians and enthusiasts of other orchestral instruments are welcome to show up with instrument in hand and join the band. There are no auditions required for membership and all skill levels are invited to join the Symphony. Arrive and toot your own horn.
Led by West Chester University-educated conductor John Mayer, the Symphony belts out a mix of classical and popular music during Wednesday rehearsals from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, 200 W. Main St., starting Sept. 11.
The Symphony originated back in the 1990s at the Audubon YMCA, but now operates as an independent organization since 2014.
